Academy Media Gallery

What & Why

Add a media gallery system so coaches and admins can upload photos and attach YouTube/Vimeo video links, then tag athletes in them. Each athlete's community profile gets a "Gallery" tab showing all media they've been tagged in. The gallery is only accessible to registered, authenticated academy members — not the public internet. This replaces the previous external Google Photos approach and keeps all media within the platform where only the academy community can view it.

Done looks like

• Coaches and admins see a "Media Gallery" section in the sidebar (or within the Command Center) where they can upload photos in bulk and add YouTube/Vimeo video links
• After uploading, coaches can tag one or more athletes in each photo/video using a searchable athlete picker
• Each photo can have a caption, date, and optional event/context tag (e.g., "Spring League 2026", "Practice")
• A new "Gallery" tab appears on athlete community profiles showing all media that athlete has been tagged in, displayed as a visual grid
• Clicking a photo opens a lightbox view; clicking a video link opens an embedded player or links out
• There is also an "All Media" gallery page accessible from the sidebar where authenticated members can browse all academy media, filter by athlete/event/date
• Only authenticated academy members can view the gallery — unauthenticated visitors cannot access any gallery content
• Coaches/admins can manage tags (add/remove athlete tags) and delete media after upload
• Bulk upload supports selecting multiple images at once with a progress indicator

Out of scope

• AI/facial recognition for auto-tagging (future enhancement — manual tagging only for now)
• Direct video file uploads (YouTube/Vimeo links only to save storage)
• Importing existing photos from Google Photos automatically (coaches will re-upload manually or in bulk)
• Public sharing of individual gallery items outside the platform
