Automated Progress Reports for Parents

What & Why

Build an automated system that generates and delivers periodic AI-powered progress reports to parents about their children's volleyball development. The academy already collects rich data — skill evaluations, coach feedback, attendance, journal entries, milestones, and development profiles — but parents only see it if they dig through multiple dashboards. This feature assembles that data into a clear, readable summary and delivers it via email (Resend) and in-app notification on a configurable schedule.

Done looks like

SuperAdmins can configure progress report frequency (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) and toggle the feature on/off from the Command Center
On the scheduled cadence, the system generates a personalized progress report for each athlete who has a connected parent/guardian
Reports include: attendance summary, recent skill evaluation highlights, coach feedback snippets, milestone achievements, Penny journal streak/consistency, and an AI-generated narrative summary paragraph
Parents receive an email with the report content and a link to view the full version in-app
A "Progress Reports" section appears in the Family Dashboard showing the history of generated reports for each child
Parents can also manually request a fresh report from the Family Dashboard (rate-limited to one per child per week)
Reports are stored in the database for historical reference

Out of scope

PDF export or printable formatting (future enhancement)
Athlete-facing version of the report (parents only for now)
Custom report templates or branding
Reports for athletes without a connected parent/guardian
